We will be discussing a very misunderstood verse in scripture pertaining to the judgment of the Father. Many are misinterpreting the verse in Isaiah chapter 28 verses 21 to 22. We will be dissecting these verses in order to get a clearer understand of Gods work that He must accomplish during this judgment. We will begin by taking a look at the verse in Isaiah.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
Isa 28:22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
Now here we see a clear verse referring to the judgment of the wicked and even a destruction of the earth. One thing that stands out in this verse is the fact that He refers to this act or work, as strange or foreign to Him. We will be seeing what in this act is actually foreign to God. After analyzing this verse we notice that Father mentions Perazim and Gibeon and compares it to this work that He must do at the end. Let’s take a look at these situations to see why Father would point these out for us to understand.
What occurred at Mount Perazim?
2Sa 5:19 And David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
2Sa 5:20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim.
There was a battle between Israel under the ruler ship of King David and the Philistines. We see that David is asking for super natural assistance to gain the victory in this war. Father declares “I will doubtless(definitely) deliver the Philistines into thine hand.” Father here fought with David in this victory against the philistines which is why David called the place Baal Perazim which means Possessors of breaches.
Though the word breach in our modern use today means hole or opening, David describes this breach in this way:
“The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters”
The word breach here in Hebrew is Pehrets which means to break which means the same as its root word Parats meaning to break forth upon. Father is doing this breaking forth on or this work or act on behalf of David. Father promised that He would do this for His people many times.
Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.
He used David to teach this to Israel when He first went against the Philistines during King Saul’s reign.
1Sa 17:45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
1Sa 17:46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
1Sa 17:47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.
This battle is not mans nor is it won by mans power or strength. The battles fought by the servants of God were always won by the power and Spirit of God. David understood this in mentioning the Philistines weapons and then saying that Father will deliver them into David’s hands.
What does it mean that God delivered them into their hands?
It means exactly what it says. Father would give them supernatural protection against their enemies as He protects His people He will be forced to eliminate the incoming danger against His people. This is the Fathers victories during these times of war. His people would enquire of Father to deliver them from their enemies, The Heavenly host would assist and all the glory would be taken from men and redirected to God as these victories became evidence that the one true God was with Israel. Let’s look at another example of this supernatural protection.
2Ch 20:14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
2Ch 20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
2Ch 20:29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
Father reassures Jehoshaphat and all the inhabitants that the battle does not belong to Israel but it belongs to Father. As Israel’s enemies went against them physically, The Father in Heaven was forced to protect His people and fight on their behalf physically. Through this work and act of God, ALL the kingdoms knew God was with His people and Fought for them. It also is a comfort and promise that He will fight our battles as well physically when necessary in His eyes and spiritually against the enemy satan. Now besides Perazim, there was another example of Fathers work He mentioned in referring to the strange work He must accomplish.
What happened in the Valley of Gibeon?
Jos 10:10 And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
Jos 10:11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
Perazim was very interesting showing that Father would protect them with a supernatural protection and now here we see evidence of His physical act in this war. Joshua who was the leader and general of Israel led them to battle. We see clearly that it was not by Joshua’s mighty army or fighting skills but by the power of our Heavenly Father that won this battle. Here we see that the Father cast down stones from heaven. Not only did He assist Israel in the war but the statement was made that more soldiers of those who opposed Israel, died from Fathers great stones than from Israelite swords.
There is no escaping the fact that God destroys on behalf of Israel to preserve His people. Father does not desire this to occur but when we analyze scripture, many nations and kingdoms openly admit the evidence and power of the one true God and His people. We also see that many nations and kingdoms rather wipe out the people of God and their God than repent and worship Him. As they attempt to wipe out Israel, Father is FORCED to protect them and fight on their behalf.
Rom_12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
All these acts of war and works of destruction were all pointing to an act and work in the end that would have to take place similar to what has taken place in the past. Though it’s a similar work, it is different because it is something that has never been done by our heavenly Father. Supernatural protection and stones coming down from Heaven onto the enemies of Gods people is revealed in revelation as a future event also.
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
We see that even in the very end of time during the judgment of the wicked, They will again acknowledge the One true God and with eyes wide open in understanding still attempt to attack Gods people and also take the city God built for His people. As they surround the people and the city Father once again fights for Israel. Note what happens: “ fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them”.
Though this act of protection and preservation was the similar to what Father has done for His people in the past. There is still something that is strange about it that has never occurred before in earths history.
Let’s look at the word strange to make sure, we are using it in context.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
The word strange in the phrase strange work is the hebrew word Zoor. Zoor means turn or to move as well as foreign or different. This word is also used in the situation that occurred with Aarons sons, Nadab and Abihu.
Lev 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not.
Lev 10:2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD.
The word strange here is zoor being used as foreign.
We see here that even the protection of spiritual things is extremely important to Father. The mixing holy and profane things together can destroy the faith and the belief of the people seeing this occur. So Father must sometimes destroy physically in order to protect His people spiritually.
Eze_22:26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
The law they purposely disobeyed is this:
Exo 30:9 Ye shall offer no strange(Zoor) incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.
In the command not to offer strange incense, the word strange is Zoor again referring to something foreign or different.
So we see that Father will perform a different type of work and a different type of Action similar to what was done at Perazim and Gibeon.
So what is this work and act that was never done before?
God, Men, and Angels have taken men’s lives or have killed their body. This is not a true death, but a sleep that occurs, simply because they will rise in a resurrection to face judgment. The killing of the body is not the strange work but the eliminating of the soul. This is an act that was designated for the end of the earth’s age. Throughout history, including the flood, Father never eliminated a soul. The Son of God Himself mentions this.
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body IN hell.
Luk 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Luk 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
This elimination is done after the judgment at the end of time. The messiah mentions this many times in different ways.
Mat 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Mat 25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
Mat 25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
This judgment is different from every judgment that occurred on earth. Though there are similarities such as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra and the examples mentioned above, this will be something that never occurred and will only happen once.
There is also another act that has not occurred as well. Isaiah mentions this in verse 22 of chapter 28.
The earth was destroyed with water and Father promised never to destroy with that method. The whole earth will be destroyed in a different way. This way is with fire instead of water.
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
This is very clear as to what will occur at the end. Clearly this has never occurred in history and will only occur once at the coming judgment of our Father and the messiah. The prophets spoke of this strange act as well multiple times. Let’s look at one example.
Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Mal 4:3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
The Messiah will come and because His glory will be like a consuming fire, it will heal those who serve and live for Him but at the same time will destroy the wicked that comes in contact with His majesty. In the end the scripture is clear, the earth and the wicked will be destroyed by fire together.
The Strange work is the elimination of souls that Father created to live forever. This is grief and pain to Him and his son. We ought to understand that this judgment is not something that will be easy for our Father but it will be necessary. Let’s examine ourselves to make sure we are living for Him and relying on His son for strength and on their power to fight for us not only spiritually but also in our physical lives. Reveal the love of God to all those who are not surrendered to the one true God and His Son, we must spread the truth. This spreading of Gods goodness and truth can prevent those who Father loves to be affected by this strange work. We must do this work and help relieve our Heavenly Father from this pain as much as we can.
May the Father bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you.
Isa 28:21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.
